Crozier’s work with Indigenous Communities is grounded in relationships, active listening, and a clear understanding of each Community’s needs. We combine Indigenous perspectives with our technical expertise to deliver practical, functional projects that respond to Community goals and support long-term, meaningful outcomes.
Crozier’s work with Indigenous Communities spans a broad range of services focused on both community priorities and consultation requirements.
We work directly with Indigenous Communities across Ontario to advance community-led projects and initiatives that support long-term planning, environmental stewardship, and sustainable growth. We work in the role of Trusted Advisor, Owner’s Representative, and Project Engineer.
Through partnerships with Indigenous Communities, we have had the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of impactful projects across Ontario including:
- Modular housing developments
- Education and daycare buildings
- Water and wastewater treatment facilities
- Elders’ and community centres
- Recreation facilities
- Safe homes and Women’s shelters
- Gas stations, restaurants, and commercial developments
This work is shaped by engagement with Chief and Council, Elders, knowledge keepers, and community members, and it is guided by the community’s cultural, environmental, and social priorities. The goal is to deliver infrastructure and projects that foster sustainable economic development, create opportunities for community members, and enhance quality of life for future generations.
In addition, Crozier collaborates with Indigenous Communities to help our private sector development clients meet their Duty to Consult obligations.
Our staff understand the importance of building trust, sharing information early, and creating opportunities for Indigenous perspectives to inform project planning and decision-making. We work with our private sector clients to understand the consultation expectations and develop engagement strategies that are appropriate to the project context, location, potential impacts, and municipal or agency requirements. This experience helps clients meet consultation-related expectations while contributing to more informed, respectful, and collaborative project planning.
